Highlights include: Barkly Pass, Sani Pass, Drakensberg Boys Choir, raptors at Falcon Ridge, Royal Natal Park & Amphitheatre, Golden Gate, Clarens & plenty more.

Day 1

Early morning departure from Mossel Bay & George.

Our journey is along the Garden Route. Our route takes us along N2, via Port Elizabeth & Grahamstown, to idyllic Hogsback, to overnight.

Day 2

Via King Williams Town, Stutterheim & Cathcart to Queenstown.

Continue via Lady Frere & Elliott. Beautiful scenery awaits as we travel along Barkly Pass (southern section of the lovely Drakensberg mountains!) Overnight atop Barkly Pass at Mountain Shadows Hotel.

Day 3

Our route is via Elliott.

Drive along picturesque mountains, via Ugie & Maclear

Mount Fletcher & Matatiele is next line, heading towards Kokstad. Proceed to Himeville, where we overnight 2 nights.

Day 4

4 x 4 outing to exquisite Sani Pass! – day trip, into Lesotho.(VALID PASSPORTS REQUIRED). Have a drink in the highest pub in Africa. Overnight Himeville.

Day 5

Follow route R617 to Howick. Visit the beautiful waterfall.

Proceed along route N3 via Mooi River & Estcourt to Winterton.

A visit to the Drakensberg will be incomplete without a visit to the Drakensberg Boys Choir – enjoy a live show in their auditorium!

Day 6

Weather permitting: visit Falcon Ridge! A beautiful live show of raptors.

Pop in to see Winterton’s interesting museum. Proceed to Cathedral Peak’s Didima camp, in the Central Berg. Closer to nature you can’t get – spectacular scenery in the mountains!  Overnight in luxury chalets at Didima camp.

Day 7

Visit Royal Natal National Park, to get closer to the “Amphitheatre”! Go on an easy hiking trail to The Cascades, on a flat surface (wheelchair friendly).

Our route takes us up Oliviershoek pass, past Sterkfontein dam. Follow the route through the spectacular Golden Gate National Park and spend some time to appreciate the beauty of the awesome scenery.

Drive to the picturesque little town of Clarens to overnight.

Day 8

Spend some time in Clarens, renowned for its many artists.

Continue our journey via Bethlehem & Paul Roux to Senekal. Visit the sandstone Dutch Reformed Church.

Now onto the N2 to Bloemfontein. Last activity for the day is Gariep dam, largest dam in our country!

Overnight on the banks of mighty Orange River, outside Colesberg.

Day 9

From Colesberg to Middelburg, Lootsberg pass to Graaff-Reinet.

Tea at Willowmore. Final stretch home is via De Rust to Oudtshoorn, Mossel Bay & George.
