Visit 2 Sanparks on this tour: Mokala National Park outside Kimberley, as well as Karoo National Park.
Depart Mossel Bay, George & Oudtshoorn. Travel via Meiringspoort. Route N1 takes us towards Beaufort West. Overnight Karoo National Park. Neatly appointed chalets.
Spend a relaxing day whilst going on a game drive within Karoo National Park. Interesting wildlife to be seen here, amongst others: lion, black rhino, mountain zebra, oryx (“gemsbok”), eland, kudu, springbok, red hartebeest & more. Overnight Karoo National Park.
Depart Karoo National Park. Route via Beaufort West. At Three Sisters, we deviate from the N1. Proceed via Victoria West to Britstown and then via Strydenburg & Hopetown, to Orania, on the banks of the mighty Orange River.
Explore Orania. This town operates totally independant. They even have their own “money”, the Ora, which is equivalent to the Rand. Proceed to Mokala Reserve, a Sanparks Resort, outside Kimberley. Overnight Mokala (2 nights).
Explore Mokala Reserve as we’ll be going on a game drive. Interesting hillocks and camel thorn trees. Endangered species roam here. Springbok, wildebeest, giraffe, roan antelope, oryx (gemsbok), as well as rhino can be seen in this park.
Travel along N12 to Kimberley, to visit import tourist attractions, such as the “Big Hole”. Our return route is via Bloemfontein. Our route takes us south on N1. Quick visit to Gariep dam. Overnight on the banks of the Orange River.
From Colesberg we follow the Route N9 to Middelburg & Graaff-Reinet. Relax a while in Willowmore and get something for lunch. The last stretch of our trip is via De Rust to Oudtshoorn, Mossel Bay & George.
